Well, after four years of badgering the wife, reading all there is to know about Midgets and keeping an eye out for one in my budget, I have finally bought myself a tatty but solid MG Midget 1500.

Having read (and agreed) with the post regarding 'snooty' single marque clubs, I was wondering if any fellow Midget owners could point me in the right direction of an owners forum or club that isn't of the 'you're not a member so youre not coming in/your car isn't standard' mindset...?

So far, any time I've needed to google for advice on how to fix something (quite a few times in the last month actually..!) the only results have come back from the US (British-Cars.net and MGExperience.net, which is fine, however i would hope there's a decent British presence for the car, given it's British itself).

I know there are UK members on these sites, however - are there any (recommended) UK equivalents?

OP, to be fair the MGCC & MGOC are pretty good. Most guys and girls are quite enthusiastic and very friendly. Note you're in the Midlands so why not nip along to one of the MG Natter evenings. There'll be a good mix of folk there, all with years of good knowledge to tap into; see

You may like to join the MGB50 celebration at Bleheim Palace on the 23rd Sept. There are a good number of Midgets attending. Apparently 1000 MG's will be there[?!] Maybe a good way to meet up with others would be to join the 'run' from the Midlands to Blenheim.

Reminds me of the early 90's when I had a 1976 Midget.

Great little cars.

There is a Midget and Sprite Club.

In my experience it ticks many of the negative boxes in the Single Marque Clubs thread however it has a free forum you can join to get a feel.

If you need engine tips you will be welcome (seriously) on the Club Triumph forum - as someone else mentioned before, the Triumph Clubs tend to be a bit more easy going + of course your car got the Spitfire engine :-)
