Capesthorne Hall Sunday 26 Aug - how was it?

I was hoping to go to yesterday's Capesthorne Hall Classic & Sports Car Show, but in the event I wasn't able to.

How was the show? Did the wet weather affect the number of cars on display?

Anybody got any piccies from the event?

Wet until 11ish then it eventually picked up by home tome. Sorry no pics as I didn't want to get camera wet . reasonable turnout

I hope it was better than the 'Classic Car' show at Thoresby yesterday. What a joke. They were letting anything in - on club stands I saw a bog standard P reg Fiesta, 04 plate BMW 318i and a last gen Audi A3. All classics apparently. Andrew Greenwood isn't very fussy it seems - I won't bother again.

I've pretty much gone off outdoor classic car shows anyway as to be honest, I've seen just about all of it now. I tend to go to the NEC one once a year and look at plenty of interesing and varied stuff. Last year I had good long chats with owners of a Citroen GS BiRotor (Yes, he had a beard) 1960 Series 62 Cadillac and stood transfixed on the SD1 club stand by a late seventies BL promotional video. Owners clubs make a real effort and that's why it's worth 15-20 quid and the Thoresby nonsense wasn't worth £7.
Outdoor shows are just a bit st. Attendance from exhibitors is hit and miss and everyone just parks up and buggers off. You've seen one E Type, and you've seen them all.

However, the Hope Valley show (Sheffield/Derbyshire) is quite good.
