So what E-type is that then?
Discussion
Having seen a few rounds of the jaguar E-type cup both last year and this year, I keep seeing a very intriguing E-type campaigned by the Minshaws. Now, I know what a roadster looks like, I know what a roadster with a hardtop on looks like. I know what a Fixed Head Coupe looks like, and I know a "lightweight" has the same sharply curved roof/flat rear deck profile of a hard topped roadster. But I'm at a loss to work out what this strange halfway-house variant is?

Whatever it is, I'm smitten - IMO its the best looking E-type I've ever seen, the perfect blend between both roadster and FHC profiles

After some quick digging for you it's Martin Melling's low drag E-type replica.

Here's one coming up for sale: http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20145/lot/155/?lis...
Looks to me like a replica of CUT 7, the Dick Protheroe car. You can tell it isn't the Lindner/Nocker car because there are no "triangles" on the sills behind the rear wheels and also the fuel cap position. Many of these replicas have bodies made by those wizards in alloy, RS Panels. Probably a steel tub and alloy front and rear. Oh, and the granny's cat was Tiddles.
Edit: Here's a Lindner/Nocker to show what I mean:-
