Is this a Mk2 Escort?

Hi All,

Just seen this picture over on thethrottle, and from the base of the screen backwards it looks like a mark 2 escort to me, but the front is wrong?



Sadly my google powers have failed me, no luck from google image search or scouring wikipedia for old US models (assuming US from surrounding motors)

anybody know?

It's a V8 Holden Torana, homologated for Bathurst.

Deffo not Escort - no strut tops under the bonnet, pointy front et al.

I concur with it possibly being a US-based GM product similar to the Opel Manta
