Anyone waiting on shipping on a classic from the 'States?

My laddo has asked me to post this on behalf of one of his buddies who is waiting for a 60's Yank from the 'States.

Well known shipping company have been used to collect a 60's yank from California.
Car is due to arrive late last week in the UK
It's then understood that 2 other 60's yanks have been put in the container (one possibly a Mustang, the other maybe a Caddy)
Container is opened in the UK and it's completely empty which then raised alarm bells such as whether they were nicked etc.
It then later turns out the container sent was the wrong one and that the three cars are supposedly still sat in the US in a holding area.

Please PM me if you know anyone who may be the owner of one of the above cars. We're trying to trace the owners of the other 2 cars to discuss further next steps.

Assuming the cars aren't damaged, then I think you'll be out of luck. It's very likely that the conditions of carriage that you have signed up to won't carry any warranty as to the speed of delivery.

The shipping co' will not give out details of the other car owners - we have no way other than posting-up on forums who the other people are and what story they have been told!

If its a reliable and reputable shipping company, then they will probably sort it out for you. Load the car into anther box and ship it over. Maybe you could get them to get a photo of the car in its current situ as proof its still there and undamaged. Again, if these people are reputable, then this wont be a problem for them. Did you take out any goods in transit insurance? if the car has been stolen, the shipping company will only be liable to a maximum amount as laid out in their terms and conditions of trading.
