I own a 1966 vitesse 6 and previously rebuilt a 1974 GT6 from boxes of parts.

Err ..I wrote off my Dad's Mk 2 Vitesse 2 Litre thanks to my 19year old lack of sense and total stupidity in driving on ice. Great car.. no grip, oversteeered everywhere, super noise and awful gearbox(synchro poor- probably my fault, overdrive worked if there was an R in the month etc).

I`ve restored my Vitesse over the last 10 years, won`t win any prizes but who cares. Had a Mk2 GT6 for a couple of years a while ago and as a teenager had all sorts of small Triumphs.

shoehorn,
You will get the widest possible range of replies here, but find the maximum possible number on one of the specialist Triumph websites. Club Triumph, TSSC and Sideways all include regular contributors who have restored a GT6/Vitesse, some several times or are in the process.

When you ask about both cars, I suppose that you are concerned with the engine or suspension which were shared. What's the problem?

I have a proper factory manual for these cars, you could probably build one from scratch with this book.
If anyone could find a use for it,i`ll be happy to post it to them for a small donation to the Essex air ambulance fund.

I've had mine for 5 years and it spent nearly a year at Southern Triumph in Bournemouth having the rear end re-built. I've got a couple of CD's of pictures.
Still not 100% but it's getting there.

My mate is rebuilding a GT6 as we speak, helped him move the bodyshell a few weeks back. Chassis is almost done & ready to go back together in the next couple of weeks.

There are some here..... http://www.pbase.com/drillhall_design/triumph&...
most are from the day I picked it up but the last 4 or 5 are post work. I'll have to upload all the 'under construction' pictures but there are quite a few.....

A Vitesse is a good car to have a crash in. Guess how I know? I loved mine, and it and I survived my numptiness.

Very nice, am liking that. Like the (black ?) stripe down the side over the white.
