In 1968 the second car I owned,a Sunbeam Supreme mk 3 I sold for the sum of £110 , the guy who bought it still owns it today---albeit not on the road. Can anybody beat that?

One of my classics had one lady owner from 1937 till 2007, and its been taxed and on the road throughout. Apart from during the war.

My parents bought a 1929 Morris Minor, (NOT Moggy 1000) in 1962, it is still in the garage, taxed and road legal, and would start first push of the button if I wanted it to! 50yrs of regular use, in a now 83 yr old car!

1967 Sunbeam Alpine. Mum had it first, I learnt in it, was given it after I passed my test. Still got it today, although it is currently undergoing a major restoration.

I was impressed by 102-year-old Margaret Dunning, who bought her 1939 Packard 740 Custom Eight Roadster in 1949 and still drives it.

My Grandfather bought my mother a brand new Morris Minoe in 1953 and we still have it. My father still owns the 1939 Chevrolet he bought in 1947 and he recently found a tin of unopened Castrol Oil he bought for a Austin Seven project he was working on before the war! Oh and we still have our 1963 Land Rover and 1972 XJ6 as well as the BSA Bantam 125 father learnt to ride on just after the war.

Not quite, I bought my MGB in 1969, it was in pieces for most of the late 70s/early 80s though.I had other things to do.
Here it is parked outside MGRS in 2011.

A friend still has the Healey 3000 given to him as a 21st birthday present in 1966.

My Great Grandfather bought a Triumph Herald convertible new in 1966, which my father still owns today.

A friend of mine's grandad bought a 1920s Rolls Royce in the late 60s as he needed something to tow another car home. He still has it and intends to restore it. Apparently he and his wife have a disagreement about how they want it done and until this is resolved it is just sitting there. It is still started occasionally though, but I don't see it ever being done.

I was the caretaker of the 1956 Packard that my Great Grandmother bought new in 1956.

Unfortunately the car was lost in Hurricane Sandy and even the wreckage of it hasn't been recovered yet

Friday marked 16 years of my ownership of (now shed) 740iL though.

Captain Cadillac....ouch that's a bit of a heart-wrenching story about loosing the car to Hurricane Sandy. Sorry to hear that.
