the ford comete on ebay
Discussion
Im hoping a pher bought it, one of only 700 made, has a v8 and was the most expensive ford money could buy back in the 50's. what a beautiful car, id love to see it carefully restored. if only id have had the 7k needed to buy it....... i would add the link but im using the mobile. if a pher has bought it please let it be mine one day....
Beautiful cars, we onwed one of what i believe is now three in the uk, and as such, very rare and almost impossible to get bits for, the rear screen is missing on the ebay car, we got a price for a new front screen using ours as a pattern and the price was crazy, so what would it be for a piece of curved glass with no pattern!! chances of getting a 2nd hand one......... almost zero!!
Shame the cars don;t wear the Facel badge really, they're as good as, and if they did have that badge the value would warrant the expense of restoration, we ended selling our for a pitance when my father died, i simply couldn't afford the restoration, and even had i been able to, i would have been scared to use the car, so thought it best to part with it for someone else to finish and enjoy......
This is the car we had, and its pretty much how we sold it, we got a fraction of the hammer price, the guy we sold it to must have done ok out of it for very little work, hey ho... when we advertised it, no-one wanted it.........
