After seeing the recent 375L for sale, got me wondering if anybody has any experience or tales of these rare machines.

Think the only one I've ever seen was dumped near Leytonstone tube station in the early 1980s (where the M11 link road now is). I walked past the bronze 375L every morning and and evening for around three weeks when eventually I saw the council remove it one morning with just the side windows smashed.
Wonder what happened to that car?

There was one in the car park at Brooklands a while ago, I think it might have been one of the VSCC tests in January one year, I spotted it, jumped out of the car and ran over to check I was correct, Mrs H thought I had gone nuts, she didn;t understand all the excitement.
Also, one parked at the 2011 (I think) Goodwood Revival near the race control tower.
Very rare sight.

My knowledge is limited to an old article called IIRC To Monterverdi by Jensen, where the authors drove a Jensen to the Monteverdi factory - reasoning been both cars had Mopar power trains.
So the go bits should be robust relative cheap to fix and make go faster, where as the show bits will be where the problems/ expense will be.

One 375 did the Euroclassic back in the 90s, it looked immaculate but like most of the really interesting, rare, low volume cars {eg Facel Vega, Lambo Espada}it never made the finish. The mechanical bits are well proven but I'd guess that things like the cooling, electrics etc were never developed properly. I think it was right hand drive, I have a photo somewhere so I can check, I bet less than 10 were ever sold in the UK.

I always used to love these because I had a Dinky (or Corgi) model of a maroon one. Aren't they hideous money now, with the exception of the Dutton-alike ones shown above?
ETA: Or maybe that's the Iso Grifo, another car I love for the same reason. Though Godin Banks have a 375L for £99,995 so maybe it's both.

Great cars...this was on the Hegarty run on 'Drive it day' last April;

There was also one in the car park at Silverstone classic in 2011 (that might have been the car above). There is another one that was (and still may be) owned by someone who also has the most stunning Ghibli that sometimes makes an appearance. With the Godin Banks car I reckon there must be at least three being regularly driven!
Is this the rarest make of car on our roads?

We gate-crashed a Lamborghini Owners Club test day (I think mid-week) at Mallory Park in about 1987. Amongst the Jalpas, Espadas and brand new pearlescent white Countach QV sat a dark blue RHD Monteverdi 375L. It may have been the Justin Banks one that's now for sale, but it was certainly in much better condition back then. I still want to own the silver Jalpa that I saw.

Remember it well...

Apologies for outrageous boasting, but I've driven a Hai.
Basta*d!

I thought there were 6 built and only 2 left in the world, until I saw that Hai at Goodwood in 2011 I had heard that both of them had just vanished into the ether.
I bet it shifted with a Hemi in it...

Some time later, two additional cars were subsequently built up by Monteverdi from parts left over.
Didn't the Hai 450SS have a reputation as being almost undrivable....?
I remember them being 'star' cards in Top Trumps Supercars set back in the 1970's

The Iso Griffo is still my favourite of all the 'odd ball' Italian rarities.
