The others that are popping up at the moment reminded me. My girlfriend's grandad owned this car and her family were told years after he sold it that it could have made them rich.

Don't know how true that is (it doesn't look particularly fancy) but it would be nice to identify the car! I've tried looking up the plate (JB 753 I think) but it's coming up as a BMW 330d.

I agree with Marendaz,look at the three exhaust pipes?? Mind you in those days there was lots of firms "copying" makes and Marendaz was one of them(Bentley??).

Probably a Marendaz 13/70. Nice looker, but it wouldn't have made the family rich unless they all thought it was a Bentley.

The background to the infamous Capt. Marendaz is covered on the "Obscure British Makes" thread a couple of months ago.

Wow! Looks like it's in Austria now, that would explain why the plate is on a BMW now.
