I've just found this lovely video from 1954. Ice racing in Wisconsin.
At the start of the film watch out for the Rolls and Talbot-Lago.
Then watch XK's Allards, TD's, 365's and a Corvette on the ice.

Brilliant. I'm surprised the Studebaker pace car could keep on the ice. The snippet about the MG TDs on the dirt track was interesting - it was like an early form of Rallycross.
