Mazda CX-7 future curiosity or classic?
Discussion
I have a Mazda CX-7. An early UK model from 2007. They didn't bring too many into the country, I was told a couple of thousand of my model, the 2.3 petrol turbo. Not many of the MK2 with a diesel engine sold here too.
It has been replaced with a new Freelander, and as its taking up space, and as he is after a bigger car, I am giving it to my father in law.
Now he plans on looking after it, and with his 3000 mile a year lifestyle it's current just below average milage will over the next few years become low.
I really like the car, and am glad its staying in the family. I see no reason barring accident or massive mechanical problems why he shouldn't be aboe to run it for a decade or more.
More likely he'll get bored and want something newer in a few years.
He did suggest to me that we look after it in its middle age with the view to keeping it in the family for ever. One day, there will be so few left in the UK that it will be a very rare, and potentially interesting car to own.
So, a 2007 Mazda CX-7 in say 2032. One family owner from new. A classic or curio?
