Whats this then...

Just picked some parts up from being blasted and powder coated and saw this waiting its turn outside - I'm thinking Citroen but not sure? Hope the owner doesn't mind the photo - looks like they have their work cut out restoring it but it also looks like it will make and interesting motor when its all finished. Any ideas...

Wasn't this the basis for the Big Healey?
Yep - because American's wanting to buy a European car didn't want to buy one that was trying to be an American car, so the Atlantic...failed to meet production expectations and Austin had a shed-load of running gear laying around when Healey came a-knocking.The same European running gear in a European body WAS what those same American car buyers were looking for, which is why the Austin name started making it on to the badges.

Just been talking to my dad and showed him the pic and he said it looked like the same model that Jackie Stewart drove at the start of the recent 'legends' programme on TV recently...I think he might be right too...?
Correct, I can't rememeber why though, did his mum have one?Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
