Vehicle Tracker on Classic Cars
Discussion
I have a couple of classic cars and I'm considering installing tracking devices on them as the standard security isn't overly effective and they're both convertibles so its easy access (I have the usual battery disconnectors etc).
I've just started looking at the market to locate the best device. Its a bit of a minefield out there with loads of offer, so does anyone have any advise?
One of my cars has a positive earth, so no idea if that will cause an issue. As I said, investiations are in their infancy at the moment so any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Devs, there's a whole page feature in this months Enjoying MG (the MGOC) magazine on this. They are offering the Skytag one for half price, £125+p&p. Not sure what make cars you've got but could probably join anyway!
That's where I saw it too, Volksworld had a similar offer last year too. Seems pretty good on paper.

What are the benefits of these commercial systems.
I've been using cheap units off EBay for a couple of years for tracking assets like my car, wife etc and they work well.
Wow! I've just done an Ebay search. I had no idea that these things were so inexpensive. So many uses! I shall carry one with me on future business trips for sure. Are there vehicle ones that can be plugged into the car to save on mains recharging?I've been using cheap units off EBay for a couple of years for tracking assets like my car, wife etc and they work well.

I've just looked on ebay as well eghttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-GSM-GPRS-GPS-SMS-Re...
For price of a couple of gallons of fuel they SEEM to be a bargain. Do they work? Has anyone got any experience of using one? At the price (if they work!) pretty cheap insurance - even if you have a monitored system.
PS For a laugh; read the fitting instructions....... obviously translated from Mandarin to Engwish using Groogle Translator.
