Hey, just after some info - how much would a twin headlamp 504 RHD be worth. Its white, all orginal with hardly any rust.I am thinking of buying it and restoring it, bringing it back to the UK- (currently in Australia)

something like this

I cant really find any info on the net about them.

If its a 4door saloon not a lot? its the 2 door Pininfarina Coupe that fetches silly money. You very rarely see a 504 saloon in the UK,let alone one for sale. There are seven on www.automobile.fr from £1.5K to £14K.
They are great cars, tough as old boots, comfortable to drive, but rust can be a problem so be careful. As far as I know twin headlamp models were only available in Australia and USA,so some spares may be hard to find.European spec` 504 Spares are available in the UK,France & Germany at sensible money.
A lot will depend on which model 504 it is? As its Australian spec` I would bet its a either a 1.8 single carb or the 2.0 twin carb engine with the estate type drum brake rear axle.Very reliable and simple to work on.It could even have the HD "African" suspension??
The 504Ti has Kugelfischer fuel injection, independent rear suspension, discs all round, etc.Great if its all working but could be a restoration night mare, particularly the fuel injection.Don`t be put off though, its an interesting project, even if its a Ti.I`ve helped my mate restore a coupe Ti,we found all the parts, sorted the injection, its finished.
One thing for sure,if you go ahead it will probably be the only one of its kind in the UK.

god help you getting parts for it,they were a nightmare to source parts for 20 odd years ago,and that was from Peugeot main dealers!

Its an Australian one, I live in Australia currently. I am thinking about buying it, restoring as parts here are easily available and very cheap then returning to the UK with it

It has very little rust (bar one dented wing), but the paint is totally knackered. I am presuming it has all the rally set up as it was previously used as a classic rally car. Its up for the equivilent of 350 quid. I reckon I could get it for nearly half that amount.

I`ve had no problem with parts,as with all classics you have to know the places to deal with and you never go near a Main Dealer even with a ten year old car.
My 1964 Peugeot is not short of parts and the 1972 504 we have just finished got everything it needed.
peugeotparts.co.uk : Serie04.com : franzose.de order online and its delivered.
Sometimes I can get parts quicker this way than parts for a customers 307 from a Main Dealer!!

Blimey you can not go wrong for that price. Its worth a lot more over here as parts. My mate has just sold three old 505`s for 1.5K EACH!This chap payed cash and shipped them to Nigeria the next day??
This 504 is old,its been a rally car so it may need quite a bit of work, but I`m sure it will not be the fuel injection model? If you get it up together its the perfect classic rally car.On last years London to Capetown Rally there were more old Peugeot`s than any other make.Five 504`s,one 505 and a 205 finished the event, some with first in class.
As everyone knows Peugeot just ruled African rallying in the 60`s,70`s & 80`s.

On the subject of Pug 504's, have recently been asked by a member to check out one on Ebay France. I had the lovely reply to my enquiry that "my garage man will deliver it to your door and take it back if not satisfied. Just give me your name, address and telephone number and we'll contact you". I replied that I'd rather talk to the garage man and would she please supply their name and address. Silence reigns. Sadly, there seems to be no way to report scams on Ebay France. However, seems to have been finally removed from the site.

Very nearly bought a 504 coupe last summer. They don't go for all that strong money (maybe RHD ones do, this was a LHD one).
Kugelfischer fuel injection isn't that complex but is driven by a belt made of some sort of obscure material and they are now hard to come buy. If rear drum brakes they are simply and reliable. Rear discs need careful maintenance. They do rust underneath quite well if not protected and maintained.

yes but it will cost three times that to ship back to the UK, might be an interesting project though. I will have to sell the 911 or Esprit to make room too.

Plently graced our drive in the day...saloons, family estates even pick ups. Great car just needed a 5 speed box..Time when Peugeot made solid tough cars after the 505 it went down hill quality wise. Old fella worked owned one of the first Pug dealers in U.K.
