Car Trailer Hydraulic Pump - Nichols Newark
Discussion
I am overhauling my car trailer and need a rebuild kit for the hydraulic hand pump. Was supplied by "Nichols" of Newark who I can't trace now. Trailer manufacturer (Peak) suggested "Indespension" who couldn't help. Anybody know of spares for this pump? The shuttle valve has broken.

Searching for another thread I note this but can't find a year. If it's old my apologies, my Brian James car trailer has one to lift the tilt bed but spares not avaiable. I bought a new complete hydraulic Jack new replacement for an engine lift crane on eBay for £100 delivered. There are several listed some twice the price but identical. I hope this is of use to you as they are a high lift extension type. J
Hi Scotty2. I've borrowed a similar trailer and oil spews out of the main shaft(handle) so I'm trying to do a rebuild myself. I'm sure we could make a part for yours even if it was hardened, which I think not. I'm very willing to help.
I've only just joined PH because of this thread, so thanks for that, but am not sure how we contact one another off the forum, if it's allowed!! cheers

With a plate added to the top of the tower on which the top of the old ram pivot fitted to align with the new Jack it now works a treat. I'd replaced the seals etc. to the old jack but it was too worn & not brilliant. This new Jack has an 8 tonne capacity & neater than the old set up. I'll email a photo, if you'd like, but not sure how it's done on this forum I've only just joined PH because of this thread, so thanks for that, but am not sure how we contact one another off the forum, if it's allowed!! cheers
