Selling a classic overseas,advice please.
Discussion
I have decided to put my classic up for sale.As its a LHD French Cabriolet I`m more likely to find a buyer outside the UK.
Can you guys please give me tips and advice about dealing abroad, what web site to use, secure payment, type of bank transfer, scams to watch out for, that sort of stuff.I`ve heard of all sorts of tricks and cons that go on so I want to be on my guard.

www.carandclassic.co.uk is good and gets EU traffic.
Leboncoin is French and gets a lot of traffic. As does Anciennes.net. Ebay.fr is an option if you want shot quickly.

Hi,
I´m from the continent, and have bought a few cars from abroad. Sites that I use:
ooyyo.com (used to have worldwide search, now you have to search by country)
eBay US, UK, Germany and Italy.
US: hemmings.com
UK: classiccarsforsale.co.uk (cars from all over Europe - very good), pistonheads.com
Germany/europe: autoscout.de, mobile.de (both have cars from all over Europe)
Italy: subito.it
Sweden: Blocket.se
Finland: nettiauto.com
On top of that, all the speciality forums, for the car inquestion. I bought my esprit via lotusforums ad. Google pic search is suprisingly useful too.

if the car is very good or special advertising it on any UK web site will be seen by the right buyers abroad such as the ones already mentioned and here (PH) and http://www.classiccars.co.uk/
I think you'll find most foreign buyers easier to deal with and get a better deal than dealing with many UK buyers
