Feel like giving up

Car's been laid up for a couple of years but finally decide to get my act together and sort it out for this year, spent lots having the clutch free'd up etc etc and get it going alright. Exhaust has been blowing a bit so had all that off last night and refitted it nicely this morning, went out for a blat to check all's well, sounds much better and no blowing; get it back into the garage just now, briefly glance at the exhaust and it has sheared a bolt through the bushes where the exhaust is held to the side of the body. ARGH.

Got to go back to the city tomorrow and do some proper work so it will be feeling my wrath for a while. The most annoying thing is I will jump in whatever motor tomorrow, turn the key or press the button and off we go (touch wood - i've no doubt now cursed it) and I will have a great drive early morning and forget all about the Lotus - which is exactly how it kept getting left behind before.
Like everyone else is saying stick at it but have breaks, keep up momentum but if you're not in the mood don't force yourself as that will make you more despondant. Any progress is progress, half an hour grabbed here and there all helps as does a good support team to both share acheived goals and suggest alternative options when things don't quite go to plan. Last June I took ownership of a car that had stood for 12 years - I've still not had a clean run in it yet but I'm soldiering on, it's currently 18 inches in the air getting a new fuel tank (alloy) as the whole problem was a heavily internally rusted tank - That first trouble free drive will be so sweet!
