Met a guy today outside Halfords(!) with the most gorgeous Grifo. Sorry no pics....
He's just bought it after selling a Ferrari 275.... strewth! Managed to stop him from buying polish and stuff from Halfords as it was sprayed in 1970. Told him to talk to Autoglym and ask their advice. Spotted an oil leak for him - hell, can't keep my hands clean for a day can I? So, hopefully he will be making his way to my workshop soon - then the pics will follow.

As young mechanic the owner of the hire company I worked for bought one of these with an engine blown. The other older mechanics were not interested in it at all so I got to rebuld the engine. The owner then run it in and then after final tuneing he took me on the M18 which at that time went from the M1 to the A1 on the clock he saw 160mph which I took as being optomistic but it was a quick car for its time. He was an enthusiastic owner and drove all his cars in that way.

Absolutely nothing. Autoglym SRP is one of the best hand applied polishes you can get. A car painted in 1970 is very likely to be cellulose. It's a lot softer than two pack and far easier to get a really good result using a hand applied polish. V8 FOU said:
Nothing in my book. It's just that modern polishes are designed for modern 2 pack finishes. My original advice was to make sure he used the best polish for the job on a very expensive car....
V8, Autoglym is a very old established company with a first class reputation. It is used as the factory polish on Astons and Bentley.They have a huge range of products to suit all types of paintwork, not just modern cars. I have never had any issues with Autoglym, and only last week I used their leather cleaner on the old Merc with fantastic results.
You could do a lot worse.

I'd sell the boat for a Grifo, but I'd keep the Keeble. You have missed the point. I am a trade user of their products and a big fan. Not knocking them at all... read my posts. Just trying to make sure yer maun gets the right product.
anyway, back ot - wasn't this a thread about an Iso Grifo I saw yesterday? Or am i mistaken?

Please' Lol... That lump is prob the best engineered part of the car... The SBC 327 is great a motor in many respects. The Grifo is a superbly styled GT no doubt' but some areas of the build quality etc... on these Italian GTs leave alot to be desired' having a GM V8 fitted is no detriment at all... A plus factor if anything. Some of the Italian engineers realised that at the time (1960s). ( you cant tell the yanks how to build a V8) Period.
