I have aquired a Standard sidevalve engine, box and rolling
chassis well I think it is. The engine does not have many
markings other than engine and casting numbers being
B.C.1.2.4.E(as stamped) and casting 43268. The reason I am
asking on here is the large amount of great expertise on this forum (creep creep)
There may be a link to the early SS cars
The engine is a sidevalve four poss 1608cc and comes with twin SU's and a four branch exhaust
with the sump pan recessed to clear the pipe. The gearbox
which is cast Standard has a remote alloy gearchange casting
bolted on. The rear axle is different than Standard more chunky and manly and I cannot find any
casting/stamped numbers yet.
The chassis which according to the reg plate was registered
between Sept 1932 to June 1933 carries 12 inch hydraulic
drum ribbed drum brakes with knock on hubs and the steering
box is a so far unstamped huge effort.
I am in the process of taking photo's so will try to post
them up soon.
many thanks in advance Andy

You're not wrong. First thing is to strip off the unwanted bits of metal and those knackered shocks. The outriggers were put there in the 60's to support an Ashley Sportiva body I am going more for 1930's inspired sports car.

Update.....
I have been stripping bits off and more so on Monday with my new angle grinder. The most important news is some id on the parts. Turns out there is a 95%+ chance that the chassis, springs and front axle is from a 1932 SSII(pre jag). The 12 inch hydraulic drums and rear axle are deffo from a 1932-35 Wolsely Hornet. I have the engine down as a 1938 Standard flying ten and the gearbox is Standard but with the remote gearchange as specced for the SSII.
It seems she will be a special special smile

Some form of update. The brakes are from a Wolseley Hornet 1932-34 as is the rear axle and I suspect the front axle. Did some parts chopping before the grinder I had for all of 24 hrs packed up. Here are so progress pictures...

The Ashley body went to the guy who helped me pick up the car. Got the new body and plonked it on the chassis what do you think?
