I sometimes get comments about ruining my classic car. Both cars are used and abused and provide so much fun and excitement. Better than being standard, sitting in the garage and only coming out a few times a year.
One is a 1973 factory V8 and the other a ruber bumper roadster.
I am happy with what we have done and would do it again.

_Who cares what other people think. Just do what you like with them.
There's enough of these being cherished the world to not worry about ruining the last examples.
If you bought them then they are yours to do what you like with.

If they both have standard engines and are used for sitting in McD's car park, then yes. However I'm going to take a punt that you don't use them for that. smile

Your money - your car - your choice - you can bet the 'comments' will come from the factory sticker and chalk mark brigade. However - if the cars in question are super low mileage limited production/rare original concours vehicles then the detractors have a point. My own car was a 'matching numbers vehicle although far from concours - everything I have done is reversible!

They look amazing mate. As said above, there's enough of these being babied as it is.

In my opinion, you've made two boring cars interesting.

When someone does this to one of the last ten in existence, then we'll think about ruining cars

They both look and probably drive ten times better than the originals.

Back wings are just a bit too much for me though, the rest... sublime smile

I left the owners club after a number of members started picking my DS restoration apart.

Wrong wheels, colour, car setup, exhaust etc etc etc.

I did more miles in it during the first year (around 8000, at least 3000 of those at full bore during rallies) than these chimps would have done combined.

PH is a terrific place for finding other people who like to drive, not polish or gripe about insignificant details.

Power to you.

They look cool, the wings look rediculous though.

I think they look ace. The spoilers might be a bit over the top, but generally they look good and I'll bet they are a lot of fun. By the way, how did you come to acquire a K-reg rubber bumper B?

I've seen a video of the coupe spinning at Castle Combe tongue out
In all seriousness the car looked like a real weapon and I'd love to have a go!
I wasn't convinced by the wings but they are the OP's own creation and he said in another thread that he'd seen a measurable lap time reduction with them so fair play, clever stuff (although how he's timing on a trackday when you're not allowed is a bit naughty hence my suggestion the OP should get his ARDS and do some test days).

i'm of the same opinion, who gives a sh@# what anyone else thinks, they're your cars just as mine is mine and I will do what I WANT TO DO TO IT. Just ignore the muppets who say it's been ruined. biggrin

The ironing boards are not for me but apart from that, they look like 2 very purposeful weapons and I like them a great deal.

As said, your cars so you do with them what you will.
More photos required though to decide for sure. wink

People have said I've ruined my car by modifying it, but it was done when 205 GTi's were worth nothing, and I thank you for your opinion which I have probably not asked for but got anyway, but it's my car and I will do what I wish with it.

Also having gone for the q car look, most folk like to tell me the 1.9 is better than the 1.6, not knowing that whilst it looks a 1.6 its gained another 325cc 8 more valves, another camshaft and 45bhp.

I've seen POE 814G before.

The best way to ruin a car is not to use it.

Nice to see these cars are enjoyed!

Great stuff. Owners would have done something similar back in the day, so why not now!?

OP,

If it were the last one left, or one of a mere handful, I would publicly defend your right to do with your own property whatever you wish, but would privately hope that you would not do anything irreversible with it.

In reality, though, in no way is an MGB a rare, irreplaceable item, unless it is one of the few with serious in-period competition history. I like your cars and frankly would not mind a hot-rod Sebring-look V8 myself.
