Oh to have the time.
I'm having an ever increasing hankering for a pre-war Alvis, although I've not yet tried to drive one.
But this is currently what I'm thinking of when the XK is sold.

Any suggestions anyone, on a good starting point to investigate pre war Alvis's any especially recommended books?
I see there are a few listed on the AOC site.

The Ken Day books (Red Triangle Story) give a good overview of the company and cars from 1919 to 1967. I haven't seen the 4th edition, but have some of the others. If you want a 1930's Speed Model, and after 1934 gives you synco, the Nick Walker 'in detail' book is nice. Although some recent sales of cars have been at eye watering prices.
If your interested in a Pre 1932 Vintage Model then the Register is a font of all knowledge. You should be able to find a copy Hull and Johnston (2nd Ed), I think the register may have some copies at cost.
Failing that, contact the seller below, he has a foot in both Vintage and PVT cars.
