Classic car windscreen fitting North-West?
Discussion
Thanks to all the advice on here I recently got my exhaust manifold rebuilt to a better than new standard by JP Exhausts.
Now I hope I can get a bit more advice as i need to get a new windscreen installed on my 1981 Matra Murena.
I'm looking for a windscreen installer - not the mobile kind really - that can fit a windscreen for me. Ideally one with their own premises as I will be ordering the screen and want it delivered somewhere where it will be insured on delivery through fitting.
Any good recommendations in the North-West? Ideally Macclesfield up to Manchester or across Cheshire.
Thanks

I suspect your 1981 Matra Murena, a car I'd never heard of until 1 minute ago, is somewhat rarer and more obscure than my 1986 MR2, but FWIW, autoglass were able to fit me a replacement windscreen on the same day I called them.
I doubt this will apply in your case, but for the benefit of others who will read the thread, don't assume just because you car is old/rare that the mainstream fitters won't be able to help you. I was pleasantly surprised.

A Matra Murena windscreen is a bonded fit. I've only ever replaced one in my 20 years. (I hadn't heard of them until the morning I was fitting one
)
Quite a nice job all in all. Simple universal type trims and an almost flat glass.
Sorry OP can't help with your question, I'm in Lincolnshire and don't fit any more.
