Grease gun for my series 3 Jag

Hi guys.

I'm looking to purchase a grease gun so I can start lubing up my series 3 and was wondering if there's a specific fitting I need on the end for it or will any grease gun do the trick?

I`ve had a Wanner grease gun since my apprenticeship days in the 60`s!! and I now use it on my old classic.I`m sure it will be OK on your Jag and there are loads for sale on EBay.

Thanks, will have a look around for one. Are the fittings on the end universal? Never actually used one before...

Grease gun fitting is different to oil gun fitting, but all automotive grease guns are (should be...) the same. They have a small, spring-loaded 'tulip' fitting to latch on to the nipple.

I've a cheaper copy of that single hand grease gun and it wont fit on the UJ nipples on my car nor will the the usual full size with flexi-hose

so a mate gave me an old small syringe style grease gun that you used to get in the car tool kit and that did work plus I don't have to fight to get it off some of the nipples in awkward places as it has an open end rather than sprung socket end

I use one which takes a cartridge of grease rather than one which has to be filled by hand. No mess!

My dad would always give me the job of refilling his grease gun when I was little and I loathed the bloody thing...

I have been using a greasegun on my morgan for the last 4 years - it was less than a tenner at halfords
