Designed by the great man whilst working for Bertone, but actualy on National Service at the time.
The Grodon Keeble was also penned by him at roughly the same time and you can tell too.

He was interviewed for one of the classic car mags (probably Octane) a couple of years ago and stated that he was most proud of the Grande Punto, not because it's the most dramatic or beautiful of all his designs, but that despite all the modern-day obstacles faced by today's car designers (pedestrian safety, etc.), he still managed to come up with something uniquely attractive in a world full of bland or plain ugly competitors.

Lancia Delta. Most beautiful family hatch ever produced.
No It's not. It's a lot of (positive) things, but not beautiful, just a boxy four door hatch which when morphed into the integrale became:Aggressive,
Purposeful,
Capable,
Etc.
I wonder if GG drew up the extra bits it gained as it morphed?
He was also responsible for the Mk1 VW Golf (which from the rear quarter view looks like a Delta) the Alfasud and Sprint all of which I've owned over the years, Happy birthday GG.
