Old cars-- Are you still alive

UGB 700 was my fathers Mk8 Jag that we stopped using in around 1968. What became of it ?

VGG 569 was a new Vauxhall FA Victor in a sort of lime green. We sold it to buy the Jag.

KOL 171 was an A40 Devon that my Mum used for years

and

BUS 612B was my first car. A Humber Sceptre 1600 of about 1964 vintage bought by me in 1973/74 for £5 !


Do any of these cars or their reg numbers live on ?

Cartel is a quick way to check if a reg number is still in use.

Unlike the DVLA site, you only need the number, so you can see if an old reg has been transferred to another vehicle.

I tried Cartell from that link and chose the 'free' option which gave me the make and model of the vehicle from a registration. Any more information costs, though. Didn't have a record for the OPs first registration though.

They've changed it. Select the (1 star) Free option.

It also shows up cars that were scrapped and crushed with structural rot 20 years ago....

Yep the 1 star option works, Pleased to say like the dvla site my car ain't on the system

just put the reg number in and press 'buy'

it then shows you the details of the car that the reg is attached to.

you can then go back a screen and try another reg


it doesn't cost until you confirm its the right car
