Picked the kids up from school on Friday pm and while passing the next door pub I spotted a 250 GTO just parked up. Took the boys over to have a good look around and I couldn't find a reason to suggest it was anything other than the genuine article, and a well used one judging by the battle scars!

The owner came over to open the bonnet and I have to say it looked (and later sounded) epic. Battle scars came from an Italian mountain "leaping out" at the owner/driver!!

I felt as though I had met the owner before but frankly was too dumbstruck to come up with intelligent questions. Once home a little digging confirmed I had met the owner, Alistair Caldwell (ex-McLaren) and the car is a rebodied 330GT. I previously met him when I was lowly Auction house employee and needed to move his Pagoda Merc rally car, he chucked me the keys and let me get on with it!!

Super nice guy, only wish I had had more time on Friday to ask questions!

With apologies for rubbishness of snaps, I was too busy enjoying the view.

That's in Hindon, isn't it?

I drive that way when heading up to see the folks and then back to Devon.

Nice car to show the lads. They won't forget that.

I've just been immersed in Alastair Caldwell's website stories. What a character who's certainly lived a little!

I don't know how I feel about 330 rebodies, nonetheless it is clearly a brilliant piece of craftsmanship. Great spot.

Is the car polished?
Is the car clean?
Is the car shining?
Yep, that must be Alastair Caldwell

Fair point LBS, a question mark would have been more appropriate.
