Found an interesting little piece of local history
Discussion
Every day I travel through the reasonably pleasant suburban north Kent town of West Wickham. I was aware of the fact that John Surtees had once occupied a motorcycle shop somewhere around the High Street, but was unsure as to the whereabouts of it.
Until recently, a furniture shop had been located in one of the buildings on the far east end. A few weeks ago it closed down. While passing by I was surprised to see that the signs had been taken down and in their place one could see the 40-year-old original signs bearing the faint outline of 'JOHN SURTEES'.
The original signs are no longer visible and the premises will soon reopen as a maths and English tuition centre.

I go through there all the time and not noticed that....
Hopefully it will still be visible next time i pass by it...
On a side note i once saw John Surtees in Edenbridge driving a Twingo....
Unfortunately the sign has now been covered with the sign for the new tuition centre.
Hopefully it will still be visible next time i pass by it...

I've also seen Surtees in Edenbridge, but he was driving something slightly different!
