Sorry to sound like a pervert, but the authorities in Dubai are insisting on seatbelts being installed into the 120 (pictured) or it wont be authorised for "highway use". Since Dubai is one big 8 lane highway, this means I would not be able to get it off my drive.

Anyone had the same issue and fitted anything that looks correct-ish? Be interested to hear about the mounting points.

I had seatbelts fitted into my XK150. The work was done by Quick Fit http://www.quickfitsbs.com/
I should have photos of the fittings, several people have asked me for them over the years.
I've seen seat belts in quite a few XK120s.

That's interesting, no none of those are mine, but I had to have a second look to check the pearl grey XK150FHC, but it isn't mine, I have red seat belts to match the red leather work. I also have seat belts in the rear. When I bought the car my kids were 7 and 5 and used to sit nicely in the rear and so I needed to have rear belts.

Thanks guys - I have been looking at some SNG sell for S1 E-type OTS cars - any pictures of any mountings anyone has made, or where those mountings have been placed, would be great!

OK here are some photos I took years back of mine, your's should be much easier as you don't have rear seats to worry about (ie not having little ones to behead with your front seat belts)

So I needed to have the front seat belts with a mounting just behind the doors.
Sorry the inside of the car was a real tip the day I took the photos, someone asked me for the pictures just after a day out with two youngsters.
So this is the top mounting behind the doors.

Down on the (filthy) floor by the door there is the bottom mounting and also the inertia reel, so this is the bottom mounting.

and the reel

Then over on the side of the transmission tunnel there is the third corner of the mountings.

In your case you could put the top mounts and reels where my rear seat belts are.

The rear of the XK120 OTS is somewhat different, but something similar is probably possible.

Hope this helps.

Thanks A8! Much obliged - its people like you that make PH an amazing place. Once again, thank you. I will study these and try and work out something very similar.

You might want to try the XK forum on Jag-Lovers too, there are a lot more XK120 drivers there than here. Most probably won't have any seatbelts, but there are bound to be some that do.

The pictures above look like a pretty good representation, from my own experience of fitting belts in XKs.

I had a funny little situation at Mallory four years ago, when a scrutiniser spotted our race XK150s healthy but FIA expired harnesses, and rejected them. The chief scrutineer was called, and he quickly advised to leave well alone as our legitimate response could be to simply remove the belts and race!!

Bumping the topic and taking it off-course, but has anyone got any idea who would make some new side curtains for a 120? Mine are comprehensively knackered beyond redemption and missing a lot of parts.

Have you started with Guy Broad or SNG Barrat?
You can get just about anything you need for an XK.

I would start with GB Classic Trim, and check if Leaping Cats know anyone. As far as a trimmer is concerned, PM me!
