I Was marshalling for the veteran car run on Clayton Hill,
just north of Brighton on Sunday, fantastic to see all the ancient
vehicles, some flying up the hill 5 up and others needing a tow!
Discovery chanel were filming Mike Brewer and Ed China for the new
'Wheeler Dealers' series and they spluttered to a halt 100yds short of the top!
Mike was walking so Ed leapt out whilst a couple of us held on and he firkled under
the bonnet, he very tall!!
He cranked and fiddled and eventually coaxed it into life but not enough power
to climb so he walked alongside and we pushed but after a bit he thanked us but wanted
to push on his own to the top where they hopped in and downhill all the way to the finish.
All credit for their achievement and not faking it for the telly!
One chap who got towed up told me in nine attempts, this was the furthest he'd got!
Great event, great cars, great day out!

We were in town for the start. (Feck me was it cold)
Mike and Ed did better than some. We passed a few casualties on Birdcage Walk, even more in Parliament Square and by the time we got down to Streatham very petrol station forecourt was full of 'em.

It's a proper challenge unlike most of the L2B's! Using cars that probably wouldn't have made it that far when they were new, let alone 100+ years old!!

They were tough 100 years ago when The best weather protection was a good mac (and I don't mean a weather forecast on your tablet!)
