Fulda Carat Assuro (tyres)

Has anybody run these before? I see people in classic Ferrari circles seem to use them.

I'm after a set of tyres in an odd size (195/70/14) and they must be V rated. Essentially it boils down to misc Far Eastern ditch finders, Vred Sprint Classics and the Fuldas.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has run them on a relatively quick and heavy (ish) car and how they stood up to a licking.

Hi Mate, I assume these are for that old SL ?
Would have to check tonight but sure that is what I put on mine, however I cant offer much comment other than they look appropriate on the car as I hardly do any miles in the car to offer feedback on noise grip and treadware, they do grip my garage floor a treat though :-)

I assume you have come up against Michelin XWX's not being available any more ? or in very limited supply.

In the good old days of 3.0 capris, Fulda were german branded goodyears from memory, had the same tread pattern and everything as the original fitment on the 205x 13 injections.

Thanks for looking, really appreciate it.

They're potentially for a new purchase, a 1980 BMW that ran that size originally. The Fuldas appeal as I like to give my cars, my classics especially, a good leathering lots of the time

The Fuldas seem to offer a good compromise of high speed stability and grip, classic looks and V rated. The only other real option is the Vred Sprint Classics and I just won't go there, they've got too many reported issues (at sustained high speeds).

Does it have to be V rated?
H rated gives you more options looking at MyTyres. Modern Vredesteins, Uniroyals, Kumhos, Toyos and the fantastically named Ovation Ecovision VI-682.
