Family have emptied my loft as I'm immobile at the moment and we're having the loft insulation done shortly. There are 5 (I think) exhaust pipes/ silencers from the previous tenant, 2 of which are new with labels. Part numbers on these are; S1268 and S1192. Has anybody any idea what these may be for? My partner told the scrap collector over the road and I think he may ve over tomorrow to scrap them.

Whatever you do dont allow the scrap man to take them . Both those pipes are off Fords . S1192 is a rear silencer off a Ford Cortina Mk1 1200 . I will tell you what the other one fits later when I have had a chance to look through my parts books .

Even better news , S1268 is the rear silencer for the Ford Cortina Mk2 GT 1966 / 1967 , the 1500cc pre crossflow engined version .

From what I understand, QH no longer manufacture exhausts/ silencers. If I can get the rest of the part numbers, would you be able to find out what models they are for? The scrap collector opposite is bringing back the only pipe he was given yesterday, so there's about 8 pipes in total.
Not sure what they're worth as I can't find any other exhausts like them for sale.

No problem , if you give me some part numbers I will consult my parts catalogues and tell you what they fit . As to value , if they were mine I would expect to see about £25 to £30 each for a rear silencer , value tends to vary depending upon which car they fit .

Sorry about the thread hijack, but would you be able to supply a system for a MK1 Fiesta Supersport Alf? I've drawn a blank with all my suppliers.

Thanks alf, that's very much appreciated. As soon as I'm back on my feet I'll get the rest of the part numbers, cheers, Phil.

Finally back on my feet now and have managed to get the rest of the part numbers from these exhaust pipes. S1642, S1163, S2733 and S290. We also have one pipe with no part number on too which is a shame.

S1642 is a complete system for an Austin 1100/1300 Countryman , S1163 is a rear exhaust silencer for a Ford Corsair 1965 to 67 , S290 is a front pipe for a Ford Cortina Mk1 1200cc & 1500cc Manual , I think you may already have the silencer to go with it . S2733 is for a Vauxhall , the appropriate page is missing from my parts book so I will have to consult one of my other catalogues which is buried in the garage , I will do that for you tomorrow .
