Anyone interested in seeing this project as it develops?

I am going to be making an ash frame body for this....Hopefully this is going to be the starting point of a new career for me as I branch away from cabinet making.

The first hurdle I have to sort out is straightening the chassis!!! eek

oh... a bit of welding is needed at the rear as well...

Could be a terrific project. To see what you've pictured turn in to a real, fully restored car, that will certainly be interesting!

Especially the ash frame bit, I'd love to see that coming together.

Looks like fun.

Open tourer or streamlined saloon?

Does the body exist or will you have to recreate it from scratch?

How will you make the curved sections of ash? Steam them? Or laminate? Or saw from a log?

Do you really have to ask? One of the only reasons I visit this place these days, rebuilds make fantastic reading and are quite possibly the best thing about PH.

Will be making the body from scratch... I am doing this for a friend of mine... He has a tourer plus a saloon and wants this to made into a special along the lines of this...

So this is going to be a massive learning curve... but one that I am more than capable of facing!! To say I am excited about this is a massive understatement.. This really is a dream come true for me (Cliche I know) but I really really want this to work and make this a stepping stone onto my new career :-)

The hard part for me is overcoming the chassis distortion....

There should not be many extreme curves so cutting from the solid will not be a problem. If there is I will make formers and laminate the sections.

Very interested - my father had an Aero minx (1933) about 20 years ago and currently has a drop head coupe 33 Minx undergoing restoration. PM me and I can put you in touch.

Hi Saladin. Have you spoken to Bob Borne? He seems to be the expert on Minxes and has more parts than you could shake a stick at.

Just found out that the chassis I am working on comes from Bob Bourne... My friend bought it off of him :-)

Been a busy bee the past few days... Not only cleaning parts...

But also with efforts to get the publicity machine up and running for this venture. An old school friend happens to a whizz at web design and whot not. So will be employing her skills on that aspect..

Anyways... here is the latest update to the blog here :-D
