Hyrogas/Hdrolastic
Discussion
Can someone tell me if the service pump unit is the same for Hydrolastic and Hydrogas?
My newly aquired vehicle has just been MOTd and Taxed for the first time in 7 years and on the first run out slowly transformed into a Nascar special i.e. down on one side. No fluid evident anywhere on the road.
Must have been the shock of being used after a long sleep.
Yes I know I haven't mentioned the model...
Ahem 1981 1.5HL Allegro

The "pump" is the same for both systems, finding one might be more of a problem though as it's a while since hydro cars were made (apart from the MGF).
I would check the displacers and pipes before having it blown up - just in case!

"JPB" (an ex-mechanic for a BL agency) mentions mods to Allegro displacers in a Princess thread!

Can anyone tell me if the hydragas units on the metro or MGF are interchangable with Allegro Mk3s?
Looks like I need to overhaul the system. Good link here:
