Classic Car auctions in the North of England.

Hi all,
Just wandered over here with a question and hope as I don't come round these parts much you'll be gentle.
Long story short.
My father passed away in December and has left behind his beloved MG Midget. Unfortunately, it was not as quite as beloved as it might have been and although it is very original it doesn't do starting very well at the moment and has been standing since he died. Much as I would love to keep it going I can't and my step-mum will be delighted to see the back of it!
So as dad was based in Humberside (and I'm in Surrey) I was hopeful someone could recommended an auctioneers where we could move it along. If it was a company that might come out and collect from my step-mum then that would be even better. As I mentioned the car was well loved but is no way concourse so I'm not suggesting Bonhams but with all the bills back to 1978, it might just need a little tlc to be a great project for someone if I can find the right auction.

You mentioned Bonhams, they normally have a couple of auctions a year in Harrogate.
As for whether poor condition would not be for them, I really wouldn't worry as when I've been to their sales there have been some real sheds, often described far better than reality.
I remember going especially to see a BMW 2002 a while ago and it was as rotten as a pear.

No chance on the fleabay option I'm afraid, wouldn't want to put my step-mum through the stress of that. For what it's worth I'd also put together a very honest ad and sling it up on www.carandclassic.co.uk and www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk - both are free and have MASSIVE readerships.

A car like the OPs doesn't fit in with their business model at all and the best he would get is weigh in price, plus it has to be taken there and I think have an MoT too.

Could try British Car Auctions BCA, they have auction centres at Preston and Brighouse to name just two - sorry but geography isn't my strong point!
