Ferrari Dino prices

Nearly fell off my chair when I saw the full page ad in this month's Classic & Sportscar.

Two red Dinos for sale for £235,000 & £245,000.

It only seemed a short while back when they were breaking past the 100k mark, when did they reach these heady heights?

There was a red Dino for sale at Hills of Leytonstone (which sold lots of nice classics in the early '80s) many years ago for what was about £1000 more than I paid for a brand new MG Metro.

I personally know of cars that went through at 200k a couple of years ago.
Foskers have a great reputation with Dino's and I'm sure these cars will be top notch.
The car at 235 has just 31,000 miles and has not been restored - that will be quite special to many people.

I nearly bought a minter from Nick Cartwright in the mid 1990's up for £65kish but opted for a new F355 instead, oh the folly of youth!

I remember when they broke the £45 k level a fews years back and look at them now


Mind you in three to four years time when they cross the £500k mark we will all then reflect on today's prices

Maybe in the next ten+ years we will be talking about the £100k+ 308 GTB think some have hit that point already

Mine would be exactly the same but a previous owner got the cutout filled in:

Circa 1983 and a very scruffy white ( L reg ? ) one used to regularly drive up and down Bethnall Green Rd in East London. Sure it had no rear bumpers. Often wonder what happened to it and if it was a factory white car, its very rare.

White was the 5th most popular colour new on the Dino in the UK but most were repainted red in the late 80's/early 90's. One of mine is white (Bianco Polo Park to give it the correct name).

The 308 Michelotto recreation looks exquisite, beautifully prepared.

I remember a part in a TV car series from long time ago, with some (older guy) with a lovely 246 dino, the man said something in that video like, I could buy a brand new ford Escort for the same money but I wanted the Dino

so he must have got it for pocket money so to speak...

Funnily enough I was watching some 'Classic Car' TV programme yesterday, the one with Penny Mallory and the ex rallying bloke (Tony something)

There was a feature on the Dino and she mentioned that the best examples could be had for £40k, with the ones needing some restoration below £20k.

I wondered how old the programme was, as I thought they seemed quite cheap, so I waited til the end.

The programme was made in 2005.
