Mod friendly insurance?

I need to find an alternative insurance company now that my Town Car is modified, any recommendations?

Try Lancaster - have recently had a very good quote from them for 4.0 V8 modified MGB.

I use Norton/Heritage for this:



Fully disclosed mods including seats, roll cage, lexan windows, wheels etc. They charge me an embarrassing £160 a year to include 6000 miles, full EU breakdown etc.

I used to use Footman James with good success a few years back for my nitrous injected 720hp Ultima. Not had a modified car since then but they were reasonable and even laughed when I read out the modifications.

I think the key to getting a good deal is the insurer understanding that your car is your pride and joy. Once they've got you as an enthusiast the barriers come down. If they think you are a Barry boy they either decline or quote silly premiums. Being in an owners club also helps IMO
