It is an Aston Martin DBR replica ( sorry.) Recreation. (probably a recreation)
Probably from AS Motorsport.
And no I didn't cheat.

I doubt if it actually copies the Aston Martin badge, but it sure looks similar. I agree with you.

(But there are some really nice recreations out there these days - have you seen some of the stuff from Argentina? Beautiful cars, well constructed, handy performance - OK as long as the owners don't pass them off in years to come as something they're not.)

But what about this one - it's got an Aston badge on so the current owner is passing it off as something it's not.

One of my bugbears I'm afraid - seems to be particularly prevalent with "AC Cobras"

Cobras- God yes. Why are they nearly all based on the steroid pumped 427 with its side exhausts and horrible wheel arches ;it always looked ghastly to my eyes compared to the sublime AC 289 .. so much classier

Seen several of these and they always have Aston Martin badges on them - unfortunately.

If you like the "better" replicas, then take a look at www.nestorsalerno.com. They are handbuilt (not GRP, but hand-formed aluminium) and powered by engines from the correct marque, even if they're not from the correct period.

The problem is, they're so good I know of at least one where a European dealer has tried to pass it off as the real thing.
