Rewiring a car today for a customer and wondered what these lamps on the front were originally for.

It's on a Beauford V8 wedding (kit) car.

Hopefully this should work until I get back into work.

I'd suspect just some extra lights for no apparent reason - blue lights are supposed to be emergency vehicles only, unless they're on the washer jets. A photo might make it easier.

Given it's a kit, they're for whatever the person who put them there wanted them to be for...

"Looking like a numpty" is probably most likely.

They look like 'Notek' spot and fog lamps. I remember the blue ones being quite popular accessories in the fifties and early sixties.

It's a Beauford; the lamps are there to dazzle you so you don't gouge your eyes out at the fugly horror that is a Beauford.

Cheers.

I remember them too. Seems like an excess of auxiliary lamps though.

Before indicators became 'standardised' Rolls and Bentleys had bumper mounted spots/fogs which doubled as indicators.

Weren't these popular with the mods and scooter boys?

I seem to remember seeing a plethora of these lights amongst the decorations on Lambrettas and Vespas when they had their annual bank holiday outing to Morecambe.

I say outing to Morecambe, but the majority of them seemed to spend most of their bank holiday weekend broken down on the hard shoulder of the M6.
