Parts and Spare shops

My sons uncle has recently just been ripped off by a spares company for old classics. now i was just wondering if anyone knows any RELIABLE webistes. I don't want you just to type it in on google i want ones you have actually used before !!!!!

I use my club's own spares service but that's not much use if you don't have a Riley. Which make and model do you need spares for?

You seem to be very good at issuing instructions in your posts. How ever did PH cope without you here to organise us all ? Maybe if you asked nicely and told us which car(s) you're working on, we might be able to offer some voluntary help.

marshalla i'm sorry but i have done something like this on my old account and people just say the first website they type into google i'm sorry for any negative feelings. The car is a series 2 Land Rover or a austin mini. I'm looking for parts for the whole car at the moment !!!

I've used Paddocks and Famous Four; the latter are very helpful with fiddly problems over the phone. Be aware that not all LR spares are equal, there are cruddy pattern parts that should be avoided.

Do you have a SII Landy, an Austin Mini, both or are you unsure which you have? I'm a bit confused! I know nothing about Land Rovers, but I can help with the Mini. A bit more info would help as some places are better for early cars. As it's an Austin it'll be from between 1959 and 1988. If it's a Mk1 or 2 I would recommend Minispares for the common parts and Somerford for the bits they don't sell. Mini Machine are great for panels, Mini Mail will sell used parts at very good prices that no one else has had for 20 years. The further it gets to the 88 end of the scale, the more I would say Minispares will be able to cater for most things you need at the best price. All the others are still very good companies who I wouldn't overlook, especially if one happens to be local to you.
