Hi All,

I have wire wheels on my '67 Triumph GT6 and have a slow puncture on one wheel. I've been to three separate tyre places now and none will touch inner tubes. Any recommendations or ideas on where to go?

Cheers!

never had a problem getting inner tubes sorted, try a local independent tyre place if you have one. My local tyre place even had a tube for a morris minor in stock a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I live in Shropshire so they won't be much use top you.

Not sure if you mean that they won't repair the tube, but I would purchase a new tube from Vintage Tyres. I have always found the smaller independent tyre outlets had no problem fitting new tubes, charged about ten pounds a wheel to change over. Victoria Road, Diss

Can't help with fitting but, for what it's worth, do use Michelin tubes.

I ran a Citroen DS rally car over two seasons and had conservatively a dozen punctures over that time. The Michelin product is head and shoulders above everything else available. I think they're around £12-15 each, well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks guys, I'm not looking for the tube to be repaired, I just can't find anywhere that will fit my new one for me. Three seperate places (two were independents) just flatly said they "won't touch inner tubes". Maybe I was just unlucky, I'll try a few more then!
