id never seen bodywork (from scuttle backwards) covered in what i believe to green leather, the car had a round front mounted black can beyond the radiator and an exterior handbrake (maybe gear lever too), what was i looking at...

Superchargers on Vintage Bentleys usually have large finned alloy casings with carbs:



However the 6½-Litre (and Speed Six) have this arrangement (not a supercharger) below the radiator:

It was a Bentley, in a local garage whilst they did my 59 Chevvy* parking brake, they also had various Sunbeam Talbot 90's in cos the owners a fan, it had that black can, thats not a blower is it
