E type question

I've started looking for an E type, but here in Canada many of them are fitted with an auto box.
Anyone have any experience of how they drive? My preference would be a manual but there are a few autos very close to where I live as opposed to having to travel to the US to look for a car.
Any comments?

I've driven my Fathers Series 3 V12 Manual and owned a Seires 3 XJ12 Auto - personally I'd stop at nothing to get the manual over the auto, especially in E Type form.

continue a search for a manual....for an E Type it's imperative......

Manual every time and dont make the mistake of thinking you can buy an auto and easily fit a manual box into it.
