Help to identify trophy for Mille Miglia class winner
Discussion
Hi, a friend has quite recently got a car that won it's class in the Mille Miglia. As part of the history that came with the car he got this trophy and we have been trying to work out where it is from - is anyone able to identify it? The writing says "Trofeo Borgo", which a google translates to "village trophy" and searches reveal football teams. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know what it was for, but Alberto Ascari had one.

Thanks for the help so far. It does seem to be a random statue that they have put part of a piston on, related to the company product. The time periods for the drivers with them are certainly correct for the car, it would have to be 1948 or later, but probably about that time in regards to it winning things.
What sort of car did it come with?
The early MMs had loads of different classes including all the smaller/smaller engined cars. These were called the 'Classe Minori' - they would often be awarded little things like this for various accomplishments through the race. Could be a winners (or other placed car) award or for a whole host of other things.
You could always try contacting the museum (http://www.museomillemiglia.it/) and see if they know.
