Lincoln Continental Mk V Bill Haden Las Vegas

I am looking at purchasing a Lincoln Continental MK V... on the back it says Bill Haden but I don't have a clue what this means can anyone help?

A quick google seems to suggest that there was a Lincoln, Mercury, Jeep dealer in Yuma, Arizona called Bill Haden in 1974. This dealer does not appear to exist anymore but the current Lincoln dealer in Yuma is Alexander Lincoln

Unlike U.K. dealers who generally stopped at the placing of a cheap "Supplied by R.I.P. Motors of Knotty Ash" type windscreen sticker, U.S. dealers would often have professionally made badges that would complement the original manufacturer items. Some would add accessories/pinstripes so that the overall effect would be of a limited edition model rather than a standard car with a dealer sticker.
Some dealer plaques/badges are quite collectable as they can be rather lovely items in their own right.

This brings back memories. I bought a Lincoln Continetal mkV must be over 20 years ago. White with a half padded vinyl roof. A real pimp mobile. After a couple of rides the missus refused to go in it preferring my alternative transport, the works Merc 207D van.

Lookswise that has to be an acquired taste. However, you should go for it!

460 cu in and well in to the emission era of low compression engines - price is good even for a total basket case as rear axle if a 9" is bulletproof and worth money - engine is a good basis for hot rodding - just a change of heads, cam, inlet set-up and exhaust would comfortably double power and probably improve mpg.
