Carb' i.d. help please...

Having a much needed garage clear up and found a couple of brand new carb's, still in brown paper but the labels disintegrated before I could read them. These have obviously been sat in my big box of "I'll need that one day" items but I'm at a loss to think of which of my old cars they might have fitted, if any! Any one know for certain?

S.U. - throat size = 1.5"
CUD 4103 - dashpot
AUD 660 - tag
AUD 9203 - floatbowl top
AUD 2140 - floatbowl

Stromberg - throat size = 1.5"
414 3489 - dashpot tag

The 1.5in SU could have been from almost any of the Austin Morris BL range of cars, The strombergs were commonly fitted to most of the late sixties and seventies Rootes vehicle range but also used by Triumph and also fitted to some 3.5V8 Range Rovers.

Cheers, I know they were common I was just wondering if anyone might recognise the AUD660 or 3489 nos. as I'm pretty sure these are the ones that relate to the specific fitment. I shall probably just list them on Ebay as HS4 and 175 CD as they certainly don't fit the flat four in my Scooby pick up or the Jaguar lump in my '36 Austin... wonder where I picked them up and why...

The brass tag on the Stromberg will identify it - there is a website for spares for these and if you enter the tag number it will know what it is. Sorry I can't remember the site at present - maybe Google "Stromberg spares"?

True, but, IIRC, inch-and-a-half would probably indicate B-series Austin-Morris stuff rather than A-series - Austin Cambridge/Morris Oxford perhaps.

Likewise, 1.5 Stromberg would be 1600-1725 Rootes stuff - Minx/Hunter/Vogue etc?

3.5V8 had twin 1.75 didn't it?
