Speedograph rev counter wiring
Discussion
Are there any experts who can help a collegue at work with the wiring for a Speedograph rev counter?
"I am looking for some guidance! Please find attached some photos of a Speedograph 80mm. tacho. I bought this off e-bay a couple of years ago. It looks as though it has never been used so I am assuming it is in working order. I wish to fit this into my Austin A35, it's a nice period extra.
Do you have a copy of the fitting instructions that goes with it, or, failing that would you please advise which wires go where?
My assumptions are as follows:- the red and black wires on the bulb holder are self explanatory. Red to panel light circuit and black to earth. This I have tested and is working fine.
The green and red wires from the case I am assuming are :- red to ignition live and green to the CB wire from the coil to the distributor.
I assume also that the changeover switch is in the correct position (to the left, as shown) for my 4 cylinder engine.
Finally, my car is wired as negative earth. Is this unit for negative earth systems? There is nothing to tell me one way or the other.
Any help you can offer would be most appreciated, as I am keen to get this installed."
