I know the USA has strict import laws, and people are importing New "Old" Defenders and Minis, but do we really need "British Law Enforcement to be there?

Maybe they should be concentrating a bit more on Japan which is a RHD.
Our 1971 Mini Cooper S Mk3 owned by my father from new was stolen in London. It was rare in that my dad took it from the showroom to Downton when brand new and latterly when the engine needed rebuilding it was rebuilt by Janspeed as they bought Downton. Nearly a year after the car was stolen Janspeed got an order for parts that could only have been for my dad's Mini and they contacted us, we contacted the Police but apparently under Japanese law the new 'owner' has title of the car after one year irrespective of the fact it is stolen!
