Where to look....?

I've been searching for a Stevens (S4) Lotus Esprit with an either blown, burnt or no engine for a project ( I have a special engine ready). I have now been searching for 12 months, have tried Ebay and the normal classifieds with no joy, this is not a wanted ad....simply asking do they exist and for any ideas where else to look?

How little are you hoping to spend? The normal 4 pot engines are relatively cheap to replace so any with a damaged engine are going to be fixed, rather than being sold at a large loss. Good ones all look to be over the £15k bracket so even a £3k engine rebuild is going to be a better proposition for the owner than selling as a non-runner for peanuts.

There is an accident damaged one at the TVR breaker in Ashington for £10k which I'm sure you would have already seen. Why not buy that and sell the existing engine to fund the body repairs, then put in your new lump. Having a recorded accident on it's history wouldn't matter if your going to modify it?

No hadn't seen it, will take a look now. Have looked at a few undamaged cars around the 10k mark but reluctant to modify a car that's up and running.
