Just wondered what the newest car made is where no known road going examples exist. Not talking about one off supercars but more normal run of the mill cars which have now disappeared. Sadly I cannot think of an example to start off so what can you guys think of ?

My dad had a Vauxhall Viceroy as a company car back in the early 80's which he let me drive on my provisional licence ! Think the Royale was also about at that time from memory. Not very common then and never seen one since albeit I haven't bothered to look.

There was a lovely Royale at the Queens Square meet in Bristol a few weeks ago.

Closest I've found so far from stuff I remember as new cars is the SEAT Malaga (1 + 0 SORN) and the Alfa Romeo Arna (0 + 2 SORN). Also the Nissan Cherry Europe, which was the Nissan-badged version of the Alfa Arna has only 1 + 2 SORN left.

Some others close to extinction in the UK include Fiat Argenta (1+3), Talbot Tagora (1+8) and FSO Polonez (2+9).

I know of at least one Yugo Sana on the road ( H15 YUG) still.

I keep a Malaga alive/ well in Belgium, and a close friend runs a Polonez!

How sad am I!

Blimey, Lonsdale I'd forgotten about them. werent they some Aussie rebadged Mitsabushi or something? The small garage near where I lived as a kid was a dealer. I can remember a couple of the older members of the village poodling around in them.
